Hubbalicious!

I’ve always been drawn to outer space images …everything from the planets in our own solar system to galaxies that may not still even exist. That’s why I was excited to discover that you can actually download a selection of l-a-r-g-e images taken by the Hubble telescope’s camera in space. You can print them up, or import them into Photoshop and go to town—although what I found when I downloaded this 16 x 20” photo of the Carina Nebula was that I was too awed to alter it.
The Hubble website describes this image as a “turbulent cosmic pinnacle” that lies within “a tempestuous stellar nursery” so I guess I’m not the only one who goes gaga over things like planets and nebulae.

Isn´t it funny how you can read images into photos from space? I totally see a bad wizard from Lord of the Rings in here, hiding his face in the hood.
Thanks for the tip on the big images. Like you, I am totally fascinated with space. In fact, when I was in the 6th grade, I absolutely wanted to become an astronaut. I knew so many facts about the solar system, the planets, how many moon they had, how many days a year, hours pr day, the atmosphere, loads of stuff that I knew by heart from pure fascination.

Currently, my favourite colours! I hopped on my blog this morn and yours, Seth's and my blog profiles came up altogether on my side panel - each with the same gorgeous colour palettes. I often look up into our night sky and wonder...what's out there, who is out there and where....it really opens up the imagination!

I have loads of those images downloaded on my hard drive. Why I don't know, they are always there if you need them on the NASA website. They are gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing.

Hey Susan,
How awesome to land on your site again. I've been off doing the SongQuest and feel happy to connect in the virtual world. I have to agree that space pictures are the coolest. As my Teacher used to say "God created Art first and then science to explain it." Love what you did with this!!! Take care. Smiles across the miles.
