Shadow Box Stamping

I’ve been stamping for about twelve years now and never lost interest in the medium. Unlike most of my art buddies, I prefer to stamp in my journal, so I’m not much of a card maker.
But I’ve always thought stamping is underutilized when it comes to doing creative projects, and since my turn to do a workshop for the Stampers of Southern Ontario is this Saturday, I decided I wanted to try something different. Instead of my usual approach (doing something stamp-ish with an origami book form), I came up with the idea of incorporating stamping into a shadow box. I guess I’ll find out on Saturday whether or not the members signed up for my workshop enjoy this approach.

I'm sure that your stamped shadow box will be well received. I think it would be dull if everyone only used the stamping medium for card making and the like and not thought of utilizing it in other art projects.

Thanks Azirca. By a strange coincidence ...or maybe not so strange, I'm fresh from leaving some fan mail on your own blog!

I love it. Who wouldn't have fun with this?

I agree with Jennifer, who wouldn't have fun. I've often thought I should join that group, just so I would have an excuse to play. I'm not sure why, but I thought you guys met in remote locations, and had strict rules for people to join. Have a great workshop.

So THIS is what you've been up to! I think I'd like to do one of those with an Alice in Wonderland vignette. As usual, my constant inspiration. Thanks. Good luck with your workshop. They'll all love it.

Your blog post gave me pause for thought as to my own rubber stamping .... I am shocked to realize that I bought my first rubber stamps back in 1988. Yeesh! I feel old............
:-)

I think your workshop will be a smashing success. The shadowbox idea is very inspiring and I agree with Leslie, an Alice in Wonderland theme would work so well. I use rubber stamps so rarely nowadays but I do own some terrific pieces. Hmmmm...must haul all of this stuff back out!

Hi Susan,
Haven't been around much. Thought I would drop in and say hi. My friend used to run a stamp making and website company. We used to design and manufacture the polymer pads and mount them. On occasion I would design something artsy for myself and go nuts with stamping ideas. I think your workshop will be a smashing success. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the idea of an art doll workshop? They do that in the states, really fun idea.I hope Barbara likes this idea, that would be dreamy.. It would be fun to do this here in Ontario. I display my art doll here and there. They are great as gifts,a bookmark, just do anything with them or add to a collage.Just display anywhere. hahaha That is what you can do with them. I hope that answers you question about art dolls.
Have the best day and love seeing your so creative art.
