Yes, I’m still here

I’ve had a few phone calls and emails lately asking me if I’m okay—and whether or not I’m still planning to post to my blog. Of course I am. Things just seem to have gotten away from me in the past few weeks though. I haven’t written in my journal for over a month now either.
The problem is: the longer you put off writing a blog entry, the harder it becomes to do one. Instead of it being a natural and spontaneous action, you start questioning if you actually have anything worthwhile to say. Not that I don’t have good reasons for being a blogcrastinator—writing articles, getting ready for my show, preparing my book for the printer, having the flu and so on. But thinking back, I guess the only fun thing I haven’t let slide is Photoshop. I took these two pictures of flowers on my daily walk and then combined them with a couple of textures Lennie posted to her blog on August 21st. There’s nothing like playing around with other people’s photos to get me back in the swing of things. So thanks Lennie. I owe this post to you.

Oh my goodness. I've been worried about you but just didn't feel it appropriate to bombard you with emails asking why your blog postings had stopped.....so I decided to be patient (while I am known to be a patient person it is hard sometimes!) and now you make this lovely post!! I'm SO glad you found the textures useful and your flower photos are just beautiful! I'm honoured you used my textures in such a lovely way; thank you :-)

Okay. Game ON. I'm now going to have to back track and try some of Lennie's instructions. Later.

Hello fellow "Blogcrastinator",

Oh my gosh, a book on the go and a show. You go girl!!! It is wonderful to hear a few words again but I know that sometimes we have to divide our time in other ways. Feeling excited for you. Love these flower pictures. Sending you a huge hug.

LOL! Now you sound like me! Funny thing is I was just thinking about posting to mine (well both of them I have an LJ too) and saw your post about still being around. I'm relatively new over here at blogger though I've had an LJ for over four years now and even I have fallen into slumps where I just procrastinate and not post. I see so many people making daily posts and I try so very hard to do the same but time and life gets in the way. It's just part of living I think. : )

It's good to hear from you. I know you have no idea who I am but I was drawn to your blog several months ago after reading about it in a magazine and was so drawn to your work I wanted to follow you. I love the pics you have posted. Beautiful flowers! Thanks so much for sharing.

And don't worry that you've gotten a bit...sidetracked with posting. It happens to the best (and the worst) of us. Glad to see you back! Take care!

So glad to hear that experienced bloggers have the same kinds of inner questions some of us new bloggers have! Thanks soooo much for your blog, for your photoshop tutorials -- they're Very Helpful for me!
By the way, how did you get such Luscious colors on the first pic? Did you alter the pic -- or was it a day nature plus your experience made it all come together?

I love your site, and am happy to see that you are "back." Your work is beautiful - thank you for sharing it. I first found out about your site in Artful Blogging, and I really liked the advice you offered on what to do - and not to do - with your blog. Thank you!
