The Word for 2011 is Focus

For the first time in ages, I decided to set some goals for the New Year. I usually avoid doing this because I don’t want to disappoint myself when I fail to achieve what I’ve promised myself I’ll do. However, the reason I changed my mind for 2011 is that not setting goals hasn’t been working for me either!
I accomplished very little last year. This was understandable given the challenges and circumstances, but still hard to deal with anyway. I’d like to feel better about myself at the end of 2011 than I did in 2010, so I know I need to focus to tackle some of the things on my list—like starting an Etsy shop, doing more with Photoshop and working on different writing projects.
Bob Proctor says you should only work on one or two goals at a time and I’m sure if he looked at my list he’d probably burst out laughing. Nevertheless, I think the way to accomplish some of this stuff is to Focus and to Put in the Time. The good thing is that I still have 362 days left to accomplish a number of my goals (and come up with a fool-proof system of beating procrastination).

As always, I love your artwork!
Good luck with the 2011-goal. Wish I could find a single word... but I´m just all over the place, it´s hard to find just one word.

Wow, Susan! The 3 goals you mentioned are at the top of my list as well. We'll have to compare notes as the year progresses.

And I love, love, love the image at top.

We do indeed have 362 days left to DO something. Good luck with your goals. I'll be thinking of you as I read the reviews in Somerset and RubberstampMadness. Congratulations.

I do believe that procrastination is my middle name! And I can relate on the "looking back" and wishing more had been accomplished. Still......I offer up one of my favourite quotes. It's what I try to live by. TRY being the operative word......

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense."

I miss you!!!!!!
I'm taking Marie Otero's Digital Magic online - still trying to master Photoshop :)
My word for this year is "content" I'm trying to be content with what I have and what I am. so now I can just sit back, relax and do nothing. And not stress about it. At all.

Happy New Year! I understand where you are coming from. I had a lot of inactivity in 2010 with thinking and reading and learning about things and not actually DOING anything with the information (my ETSY shop has been in "vacation" mode for two years)!!! Annoying!! So, like you, I AM going to get it in gear and accomplish something this year:) Good luck with your goals.

I never make resolutions either, but this year, I , too chose a word. A simple word seems so much less intimidating than a resolution. Mine is balance.
It sounds like you are on the right track!
