If my studio space was a soap opera, it would be called “All My Stuff.” I’m in the process of taking an inventory so I know what I have to work with for my show in the fall. And I have to say I’m embarrassed by all the things I’d forgotten about, and therefore haven’t used yet.
There’s that set of rusted stove legs I bought when I was up at Mary’s boat last summer; various (and mysterious) electrical components; a pile of dolls; and tons of scrapbooking paper of course. It’s obvious I’m more of a collector of things than a user of them—at least at this point. But when you think about it, all that stuff is just raw potential waiting to be explored …exciting and definitely quite daunting. But like Emily Dickinson said: “I dwell in possibility…”

I know exactly how you feel. I love the quote and must remember it the next time someone questions my own creative fodder, or the volume of it.
"I dwell in possibility." Love it!!
I agree whole heartedly... what a fantastic saying. Going to write that down somewhere...thankyou, its JUSt the line I've been looking for.
Good luck with the inventory - something I'd never dare attempt lol (as I peep over the mound to view the screen in order to type lol)
You've used a beautiful colour combination here ...
Yes, I know that so well, too! Collecting things is also my hobby but one of my resolutions for this year was to do something with them! We will see...
I've often thought of an inventory of "stuff". This may be the only way one can remember what one actually has! My normal routine is to leave it all out where I can see it. Messy messy messy.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Since I don't have a room of my own I don't have many things I never use. Every evening I must put everything in the closet so the dinnertable will be available for dinner. So before I take anything home or buy anything I think about whether I have room for it or not. But somewhere in the future I hope to have my own room and then I will be gathering stuff. And maybe at some point I will be making an inventory as well.
生活的感觉,各种滋味....
Good!
Leslie and I were both inspired to do the same. So I've stacked up all the stamping and altering thins on the stairs to be counted and recorded. Paints and painting things are more often used so they are more "out" but I've made a list of order to do things. I immediately deviated from that list a started on something new. I've even gone so far as to participate in a weekly challenge just to get doing. So thank for the inspiration at this rate I'll have nothing to do someday. Not likely though.
