Which Way to the Beach?

It's our ATC Beach trade tonight, but I can't go because Dad is home from the hospital and I'm on board to fluff pillows, tell jokes, do the dishes, make the Saturday morning tea etc.
Even though I haven't had time to make my ATCs, I thought the least I could do was to create something digital. Not that it turned out the way I wanted it to.
Because I always get a kick out of Sandy’s Blythe doll adventures, I thought I’d play with what a doll might do at the beach. Unfortunately, all I had at hand was a head, and the more I worked on it, the stranger it became.

In the end, I had to leave it as is because I’d run out of time. But there’s something to be said about feeling accountable to your blog. It’s gets you doing things you’d almost certainly put off when you’re pressed for time in your life like I am.

I love this. Looks like this little dolly has been running around the beach in Hawaii all day looking for shells. She finally found one and is so proud of her accomplishments. A little dusted with sand...don't all kids look like this after a day at the beach? The spume coming off of her head gives me the feeling that all her hard work was worth the effort! Hard to do with no body :)
Love it, and thanks for stepping up the plate despite all your exhausting duties these past months. You are in my thoughts. Fondly. LJM

Love the doll, it's the facial expression here that just makes it for me. The more I stare at her, the more I see, the more personality I detect.
Love your blog, too. Just discovered it through Carole Segal's blog. I'll definitely be back! I know exactly what you mean by "feeling accountable to your blog", by the way -- I have those feelings often myself.
And best wishes to your family!

I love your ATC and would love to trade one of my ATC, next time we see each other.
